The Company:
Our client is a leading operator with oil and gas project in multiple locations across Africa. Due to continued growth and new ventures we are now looking to recruit a Senior Geophysicist for a residential role to be based in Ghana

The Role:
The successful candidate will be tasked with the following activity and responsibilities:

• Managing the workload of junior geoscientists to include seconded employees from JV partner
• Interaction with internal and external stakeholders to include the Ghana Exploration Manager, international exploration teams and in country drilling teams
• Assist and define and execute opportunities for reserves growth
• Provide geophysical and geological evaluation of operated and non operated blocks
• Review and advise on new Venture opportunities.
• Provide high quality geophysical evaluations and generate prospects on operated licenses for the drilling team
• Evaluate new Venture and Farm-In opportunities and assist with new licence applications.
• Prepare geophysical programmes for new wells, assist with well planning, support drilling operations
• Provide advice on seismic survey planning, data processing and velocity models
• Undertake quantitative geophysical studies for improved reservoir understanding and modelling
• Support probabilistic volumetric assessment of prospects and assist with the risking of prospects

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
We are therefore keen to receive applications from candidates with the following key skills and experience:

• A Degree or PhD in Geology
• 10-15 years experience gained in exploration geophysics
• Proven track record in developing geophysical assessments on operated and new venture projects
• Operator company experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
