The Company:
A UK based operator who is part of a large European integrated energy company.

The Role:
You weill be responsible for over seeing intergrated teams of Geoscientists, Reservoir Engineers, and Petrophysicists assigned to Field Development projects.

The position will report directly to the Head of Production and Operations. Functional reporting lines will also exist to the Head of Exploration and New Business and the Head of Developments.

Your Key objectives will be:-

• Analysis of geotechnical data to advance and optimise operated development projects
• Preparation and maintenance of Petrel models for prospective and producing fields, and participation in the identification of infill targets and reservoir management strategies.
• QC of deterministic and probabilistic volumetrics calculations, including assessment of uncertainty ranges for in-place and recoverable hydrocarbon volumes
• Supervision and coordination of Field Development teams to meet the objectives set by the Operating committees and internal targets, including budgeting and objective setting
• Participation in regular reserves and resources reporting and in corporate medium & long range forecasting.


Main Responsibilities

• Preparation of Geotechnical work programmes and budgets to meet Field Development goals
• Liaison with Development, Geoscience and Drilling managers to ensure compliance of work programmes with project targets and company standards with their requirements
• Chairing JV technical committees for development and producing fields as required
• QC of all geological and reservoir engineering work within area of responsibility
• Participation in the preparation of well planning material for operated wells, including recommendations for data acquisition (logging and testing) of appraisal and development wells
• Evaluation of geotechnical data from JV projects as required to support the JV Manager, including recommendations for optimising field enhancements
• Determination of appropriate strategies for the construction of Petrel models for prospective, development and producing fields, and for the appropriate conversion for efficient dynamic simulation
• Selection and supervision of geotechnical consultants and internal resources for projects such as formation sanding or formation damage evaluations
• Representation of company in meetings with partners, authorities, other company offices
• Coordination of Peer Assist and Management review processes necessary to maintain quality and consistency across projects.

• During well planning and implementation, the post-holder will liaise with HSEQ Manager and Drilling Manager to ensure that geological and formation evaluation operations can be conducted in an efficient and safe manner within the well construction process
• Identification of possible subsurface hazards to drilling operations
• Implementation of all Corporate HSE guidelines in the preparation of development and operations plans

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
You must have degree in Geology or Petroleum Engineering

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Ideally you will have 10+ years exposure to field development / optimisation in an operating company
Significant exposure to related geoscience and petroleum engineering disciplines
Wide range of experience across subsurface disciplines, including exploration, development, production & operations
Team leadership within a consultancy or operating company
