The Company:
Our Client is a large Automotive and Commercial Vehicle OEM, with a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering on a contract basis. These opportunities are typically based in their research and development facility located in Dunton which is the largest automotive technical centre in the United Kingdom.

The Role:
Diagnostic Engineer Create diagnostic validation plans, perform diagnostic validation on diesel applications and manage diagnostic issue resolution. Create diagnostic test plan to ensure sign-off is achieved for programme gateways. Plan all validation activities for diagnostics. Carry out all diagnostic testing. Analysis of test results. Initial assessment of test failures. Documentation of test results. Raise and track identified diagnostic issues. Manage diagnostic issue resolution. Work with calibration and software Integration Engineers to investigate issues. Work with project control to ensure vehicles/rigs are available to support testing. Where necessary, plan and book travel to support testing

Skills Required:
Calibration Tools (ATi / INCA) Diagnostic Tools (DET - Diagnostic Engineering Tool / DSP ¿ Diagnostic Script Player) Multiplex Tools (CANalyser / CANoe) HIL Working knowledge of ISO-14229 and Ford specific diagnostic requirements
Skills Preferred:
CANdela MDX

Experience Required:
A good knowledge and experience of Powertrain Control Systems and related sensors/actuators Good team and interpersonal skills (this role requires close working with various global teams, both inside and outside the department)

Experience Preferred:
Proven ability to lead and prioritise issue resolution A good knowledge and experience of Diesel Powertrain Control Systems and related sensors/actuators Knowledge of distributed vehicle features Knowledge of OBD legislation

Education Required:
Minimum qualification is an engineering degree
