The Company:
Our Client is a large Automotive and Commercial Vehicle OEM, with a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering on a contract basis. These opportunities are typically based in their research and development facility located in Dunton which is the largest automotive technical centre in the United Kingdom.

The Role:
Diesel Feature Engineer (Dependability - Vehicle Functions).

Working within the Global Diesel powertrain controls department the successful candidate will lead the functional Safety application work on the vehicle control features.
Support the vehicle feature team to develop functional safety work-products for new and modified functions.
Ensure that the monitoring requirements and design are compatible with base system specification and design and create the necessary requirements.
Work with suppliers to review implementation proposals.
Maintain Test specifications against requirement specifications.
Define & execute the necessary DV & sign-off work for production application (In conjunction with Calibration Team and with HIL Validation Team).
Lead problem resolution for areas of function within your responsibility including working with the calibration team to resolve functionality issues.

As this position is based in powertrain a good understanding of modern engine and vehicle control systems, interactions and CAN communications is required.

Skills Required:
Engineering Degree to BEng/BSc or higher, ideally with significant Control or Systems Engineering content.
INCA or ATI.
The candidate will be able to prioritise and deliver under varying levels of workload, to meet our customer requirements.
The ability to respond positively on time limited issues and to prioritise and plan several simultaneous tasks.
Requirements management and/or SysML experience or awareness.
MS Office Suite (Access / Excel / Word / PowerPoint).

Experience Required:
A good understanding, and experience, of powertrain systems.
Experience of the Control System / Software development process.
Experience of testing in a HIL and vehicle environment and use of automotive calibration tools e.g. INCA or ATI.
Proven ability to communicate and work effectively with others in a global context.

Experience Preferred:
Experience of, or awareness, of software tools used for requirements capture and system specification e.g. SySML FMEA experience.
Awareness of, ideally some experience of ISO26262.

Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent .

Additional Information :
Limited travel to Continental Europe may be required.
