The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Dimensional engineer required to capture dimensional knowledge on a wide range of Body Engineering parts and assemblies. Working with in house metrology departments and suppliers to create a knowledge database of dimensional capability. Use statistical tools to analyse and characterise different manufacturing processes and provide feedback to engineering teams during product development to develop geometric specifications.

Essential Experience & Qualifications
3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:
1) Good overall metrology knowledge is essential, and ability to use metrology tools. Understanding of inspection gauge and fixture design Understanding of GD&T and be able to read engineering drawings/models Should exhibit excellent communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence, and be self-motivated to deliver with minimum supervision Have an understanding of manufacturing process variation / process capability and how to improve this or confirm capability within a product design
2) Computer literate, particularly in MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint & Word Must be prepared to travel, have good project and time management skills, the ability to work alone and represent the company at supplier premises Six sigma Green Belt or Black belt Knowledge of Body Engineering systems and component design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements. Desirable.
3) Understanding of sheet metal stamping, casting and plastic moulding processes. Experience in tolerance analysis (2D or 3D) Minitab. Ability to use CMM and scanning tools

HNC/HND 3yrs + experience within Metrology, Manufacturing or Quality environment Experience of working on multiple sites Experience of analysing data and presenting results
Degree Qualified

Additional Information:
Job role is based in Gaydon but travel to multiple manufacturing sites is required. Some overseas travel may be required Driving licence required
