The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Dimensional Maturation & Build Integrity Engineer X 3 The DMBI Team are one leg of the larger DCBI (Dimensional Control and Build Integrity). The principle responsibility for the team is the dimensional maturation of the body structure. This includes involvement from conception of designs through to the launch of the finished vehicle and requires a clear understanding of part, assembly and system interaction which involves, tolerance, variability, and methods of location and measurement. A high degree of inter departmental interaction is expected, specifically in areas that have a direct relationship to the deliverables of the department.

Support the Dimensional Maturation and Build Integrity Project Engineer in the Programme deliverables.
Identify and drive tasks associated with the Dimensional Maturation and Build Integrity roles and responsibilities and report out status in an agreed format.
Support the buy off of the virtual product and process validation provided by the Dimensional Management and DVA team for all JLR model lines
Support the Project Engineer and monitor the planning, execution and administration of product and manufacturing tooling maturation events through the various launch phases from CP build to Job1 + 90 days for all JLR model lines
Represent Dimensional Control & Build Integrity when required at the home base and at the all JLR launch sites.
Support the programme buy off, and drive the application of the Dimensional Management System for all JLR model lines to confirm product dimensional acceptance.
Participate in the Benchmarking of alternative launch practices within the Automotive industry to establish and implement best practices.
Support and drive the build quality performance, monitoring the launch sites to recognise and address capability issues and address them.
Support the Project Engineer in the Liaison with the AME/CME/PD/Stamping Engineering Engineers, Managers and Area Managers of launch sites to prepare and accomplish the hand over of dimensional quality activities within Job1 + 90
Support the compliance with corporate initiatives like TS16949, ISO 14001, etc within the Dimensional Control and Build Integrity Group.
Represent the Project Engineer / Manager Dimensional Maturation & Build Integrity as required.
Lead Departmental / Company Administration requirements identified individually and support all other Team Members in their activities as and when required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineers should be highly self-motivated, production orientated individuals, with proven team leading and effective communication skills.
Computer literacy and an ability to write technical reports and give presentations are essential requirements.
Experience in metrology and manufacturing engineering as well as Six Sigma experience as Green Belt or Black Belt are beneficial
Business Behaviours: Strengths should include: Self motivated, confident, team player. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Personal Characteristics. Ability to work in a fast moving/changing environment. Flexible in both working location and in time.
Applicants should ideally possess a HNC / HND or equivalent, in a relevant Engineering Discipline and sound hands on experience in the dimensional product on tooling maturation, preferably in the Body Shop.
