The Role:
1 MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The Pre-Series Centre Dimensional Management(DM) Engineer is responsible for carrying out dimensional management validation of designs at system and part level to support the release process for all new projects. Primary tasks are the moderation of DM zone teams and carrying out 3D system tolerance analysis simulation, using 3DCS software.

2 POSITION IN ORGANISATION

The Pre-Series Centre Dimensional Management Engineer works for the Pre-Series Centre Dimensional Management Senior Engineer, who leads a team generally comprising of Engineers.

3 SCOPE OF JOB

• Moderation of dimensional management zone teams to support the delivery of fully validated design releases.
• Constructing and delivering fully validated 3D simulation models within agreed schedules.
• Carry out 3D tolerance simulation using 3DCS software.
• Interpretation of analysis results to provide dimensional management recommendations to support the delivery of robust design releases.
• Completion of tasks in a simultaneous working environment.
• Delivery of completed tolerance simulation studies to agreed timing.
• Delivering ‘day-to-day’ problem solving activities.
• Working closely with feasibility engineers within the Pre-Series Centre and externally.
• Maintaining all reporting aspects of DM applications.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Diploma or equivalent in 3D simulation.
• Demonstrated experience in the automotive industry.
• Demonstrated experience in the application of 3D tolerance simulation.
• Demonstrated experience in the application of GD&T.
• ‘Hands-on’ experience in 3D simulation, preferably using 3DCS software.
• Experience of using Aesthetica visualization software
• Experience of working in a project environment.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• German speaking capability desirable.
• Preferably graduate level or equivalent in an Engineering or science based subject.
