The Role:
• Leadership and oversight of the safe, environmentally responsible, efficient, effective and cost competitive technical and commercial operation of all controlled vessels consistent with the provisions of the Ship Management Agreements and time charter parties.
• Primary day to day operational link with third party owners/technical managers that supplement LNG and Oil fleet requirements
• Leadership, oversight and support of the Group’s hydrocarbon loss control activities, focused on optimizing value across the custody transfer chain
• Ensuring the safe and efficient transition of new build vessels from Marine Projects to Marine Operations
• Identification of potential commercial implications of operations activities and technical problems and prompt communication of same to non operations counterparts
• Fleet performance, including maintenance excellence and the implementation and use of performance monitoring systems
• Performance of ship managers of both Owned and Time Chartered vessels in the provision of their services to shipping
• Compliance with Group Standards and regulatory procedures and policies within the marine transportation industry and awareness of changes that may have an effect on shipping
• Maintain relationships with terminals, towage companies, pilots and port authorities to ensure safe and economic operations.
• Be responsible for the site management

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage resources to deliver accountabilities and support Marine Project activities to ensure that new assets transition safely into operations.
• Develop and manage key external operations relationships in support shipping mission and goals
• Assure that all operations activities are conducted in compliance with the Framework, including the HSSE management and Quality management systems, and international best practice in shipping
• Monitor operational and G&A budgets and expenditures for Shipping Logistics and Technical Operations.
• Report regularly as required to all interested parties within the status of the shipping operations
• Promote a positive safety culture by active participation in development, implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures to ensure high standards of performance
• Responsible for ship-shore interface plan for commissioning cargoes for new LNG receiving terminals.
• In coordination with Marine Assurance audit marine terminals and towage companies
• Review and assist S&O with charterers/owners instructions in SPAs, CoUs etc.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications:

Maritime or related degree required, or equivalent
• Achievement of Captain or Chief Engineer license is preferred
• Significant experience in LNG and or Crude Oil shipping, or equivalent
• Must have good communication skills, and must demonstrate effective organizational skills
• Significant experience in shore-based shipping activities
• Firm understanding of budgetary procedures and cost analysis

• Terminal Operations
• Towage operations
