The Company:
Our client is an exporation and production company which specializes in horizontal drilling, and is seeking a District Landman in Midland, Texas.

The Role:
District Landman - Midland

Responsibilities:

-Coordinate land-related activities in association with Company's Permian Basin drilling and acquisition programs
-Determine ownerships, negotiate land contracts and due diligence of property acquisitions
-Draft and manage agreements respecting property interests
-Negotiate and draft a wide variety of leases and agreements with landowners, mineral owners and industry partners
-Participate in and provide expertise for multidisciplinary teams
-Create reports, maps, and other documents to aid management in the decision making process
-Communicate compliance issues with various governmental agencies, including Texas Railroad Commission and University Lands
-Review and evaluate title, ownership reports, and title opinions
-Prepare, evaluate, and obtain appropriate curative documents so that the company may obtain leases and drill wells
-Supervise work assignments of outside contractors

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications:

-5-10 years experience as a professional landman, including superior interpersonal skills/detail oriented/capable of producing results in timely manner
-Proficient in operating a work environment that supports District drilling objectives with minimal direct supervision
-Permian Basin experience preferred
-Petroleum Land Management Degree or equivalent, and CPL certification is a plus
-BS/BA Degree required
