The Role:
 Promote appropriate HS&E behavioural leadership including compliance with current COMPANY campaigns
 Promote and actively support contractor HS&E initiatives.
 Engage in briefing / debriefing before and after trip and comply with COMPANY Journey Management Plan.
 Ensure regular voice/email communications as appropriate with relevant focal point in COMPANY offices
 Provide a written report of activities highlighting pertinent lessons learned and including any suggested improvements for future visits / related activities.
 Induct COMPANY representative personnel new to the location (in addition to the Ship induction) as to the COMPANY systems of work and define responsibilities in terms of accountability for safety and their attitude and behaviours whilst on board. This will include explaining the systems for reporting near misses whilst on board.
 Attend regular safety meetings with representatives from each applicable party (e.g. onboard vessel), held at least weekly or more often when operations require. Forward a copy of the minutes of meeting to the COMPANY onshore focal point, and ensure adequate follow-up and close-out with vessel personnel.
 Ensure active participation in Job Safety Analysis / tool box talk / equivalent briefings, and be satisfied that all risks and hazards are adequately addressed.
 Ensure that any audit actions from previous visits are satisfactorily closed-out for relevant locations.
 Be conversant with both COMPANY Safety Management Systems and general procedures and current legislation in respect of Diving and ROV operations. Monitor contractual compliance with these.
 Monitor the operation of Diving Support Vessels, Diving crews / equipment and ensure that work is scheduled and executed in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
 Have a thorough understanding and ability to administer COMPANY infield procedures, in particular the Permit to Work system which will include close liaison with the relevant platform management to obtain the necessary permits and clearances to commence work at each location.
 Review and formally accept or reject operational procedures. During execution of work ensure that the appropriate specifications, the Operational Procedure, Risk Assessments and change-control procedures are complied with. Ensure particular diligence around management of change, expecially when schedules / resources are amended for responsive requirements.
 Understand and administer COMPANY incident investigation and reporting procedures and ensure appropriate notification is made for all safety incidents and / or near misses, first formal notification occurring within 12 hours of the event. Ensure adequate close-out with CONTRACTOR PERSONNEL.
 Ensure that the vessel crew have the necessary information to comply with COMPANY infield operational procedures
 Ensure that mobilisations and demobilisations adequately describe and manage all HS&E risks, by appropriate preparation and planning.
 Provide visible leadership around environmental management and awareness.
 Ensure that the interests of COMPANY are satisfied during the day to day operations of the Diving and / or ROV works, executed from the vessel, rig or platform.
 Be familiar with the principle terms, conditions and requirements of the contract and report any non-compliance to the COMPANY focal point onshore. Where appropriate, seek resolution with contractor offshore.
 Confirm with contractor’s representative that all resources are available for the work offshore and operational. Attend daily operational meetings with contractor representative to discuss works completed and scheduled for the period.
 Ensure that the contractor complies with the contract requirements for reporting and production of inspection reports. Review and sign all Interim and Final reports and ensure that they are submitted in a timely manner.
 Keep a detailed diary of events, record of hand-over notes and any other pertinent information in a hardback log to remain a part of the project file on completion of operations.
 Ensure for promotion of lateral learning, that a summary de-brief report is completed after each trip and solicit summary formal feedback from visited locations as to performance and communications.

PRIMARILY OFFSHORE / OVERSEAS-BASED

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Further education qualification in an engineering / technical discipline, or equivalent gained by experience; for example, Diving Supervisor responsibilities.
- Extensive experience in diving / offshore / marine / subsea environment with supervisory experience in Diving operations at contractors.
- Compliance with relevant diving industry guidance on competency is desirable.
