The Role:
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Managing Director with responsibility and accountability for the Profit and Loss account of a multi-million pound business within parent company..
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide the Board of Directors with strategic direction for the development/growth of Modular Solutions commensurate with a profitable and sustainable business.
* Prepare annual business plans for presentation to the board of directors for approval and budgetary sanction.
* Liaise with the Finance Director to update quarterly forecasts, define variances to budget and agree appropriate actions plans.
* Ensure Delivery of on-going projects within budget, program and delivery requirements.
* Line manage the following personnel which report to this position; Business Development Director. Project Director(s) and Integrated Project teams (IPT's). Senior Manager - Systems integration. Project Engineering Manager. Senior Manager HVAC Services. Commercial Director Designate.
* Oversee the Integrated Project Teams which cover project management, planning, design, engineering, electrical, HVAC, material requisitioning/procurement, module fit out, control of variations (QS) and project gross margin.
* Liaise with the Operations Director to ensure Modular Build methodology is within companies manufacturing philosophy and its facilities.
* Advise the Operations Director, in a timely manner, of any major potential technical or scope changes to the client's contractual specifications which may impact on the company's manufacturing performance.
* Accompany and support the IPT Project Directors during client sponsor overviews, progress reviews and resolution of contractual issues.
* Maintain an excellent working relationship with senior client personnel commensurate with resolving change orders and maintain dialogue to reach prompt agreement to avoid dispute.
* Chair daily, weekly and monthly internal project reviews as required by the Board of Directors.
* Attend monthly contract reviews with the line Director(s)/Manager(s) to report on the commercial performance of the projects versus bid. Explain any variance in costs, in advance, arising from internal change and/or client change.
* Attend and report at monthly management performance reviews (PRM) and senior management meetings (SMT).
* Perform annual PDR's with staff with quarterly discussions regarding personal performance.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge/Skills/Experience required for role:
- Master's Degree Level qualification in a Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Bachelors degree with minimum 12 years discipline experience.
- Significant high level expertise in the field of Project and Contract Management.
- Strategic decision maker and tactful negotiator demonstrating positive diplomacy.
- Excellent communication skills and team building acumen.
- Ability to lead effectively in a cross functional, multi-disciplined management matrix structure.
