The Company:
A major international oil and gas operator seeks a document controller to join their team in Houston.

The Role:
Take direction from skilled document control personnel to enhance skill set within Project Document Control team as well as Clients’s Document Control team
• Process all Project official documentation (includes engineering/technical, correspondence, project management - commercial, legal) generated by COMPANY and CONTRACTOR to be stored in the Document Management System.
• Process transmittal of information between COMPANY and CONTRACTOR.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Gain knowledge of formal requirements for the Project’s successful development pertaining to information
• Take direction from skilled document control personnel to enhance skill set within Project Document Control team as well as Clients’s Document Control team
• Seek assistance in completing assigned tasks to ensure accuracy and completeness in compliance with Company and Project procedures/processes
• Seek additional tasks when current are completed
• Process assigned Project official documentation (includes engineering/technical, correspondence, project management - commercial, legal) generated by COMPANY and CONTRACTOR to be stored in the Document Management System
• Perform quality control checks to ensure compliant documentation according to non-technical procedural processes; seek assistance if questionable
• Expedite and track status of all documents reviewed internally by the Project upon request
• Assist in documentation collection in the progression of the Project Phases with regard to completeness and accuracy
• Process transmittal of information between COMPANY and CONTRACTOR to expedite information flow
• Provide technical assistance with the import of data from corporate, vendor, partner and other sources; including but not limited to advising users as they correct inaccurate and/or missing data; seek assistance if questionable
• Add/update documents to Major Capitol Project (MCP) Document Management System
• Accurately and constantly maintain the metadata of project documents, such as, but not limited to; number, title, revision, status, etc. in accordance to Project specifications
• Receive and send all documents between the MCP and other organizations, making appropriate database / log entries for tracking purposes
• Provision of accurate and up to date document review, receipt and issue information to MCP team members
• Assist Project team members as appropriate; questionable requests should be approved by Lead Document Control or delegate(s) **90% - Day to day processing of transmittals **10% - Assisting the project team with requests/ad-hoc assistance Operational Excellence
• Promote a professional and customer service oriented atmosphere
• Establish team building rapport with internal and external recipients to ascertain a successful working relationship
• Seek subject matter expertise to promote excellence within the Document Control department
• Participate in the growth and success of Client’s Document Control department through active participation, feedback, suggestions and constructive discussions within the team • Comply and promote compliance with Company and Project specific procedures/processes to ensure success

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
HS or equivalent
2 Years in a Document Controller position
Major Capital Project and Phase 4 experience
• Minimum of 2 years using an electronic document management system preferred
• Working Knowledge in Microsoft Windows environment using Microsoft Applications • Must have a methodical and well organized approach to the work environment
• Must possess a can do attitude & will do actions
• Be able to receive constructive criticism for professional growth
