The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.

In Australia they are involved in one of the Country's largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in FEED (Front End Engineering Design) Stage.

The Role:
As the Dredging Superintendent you will assist the Dredging Package Manager and the Dredging Project Engineers to manage the dredging contractor by overseeing the inspection and monitoring of the daily activities of all dredgers and report findings in a timely manner to the Dredging Project Engineers. You will also coordinate and supervise up to 6 subordinates.


This role is Perth based but will require you to work at site in Darwin, Australia on a FIFO basis.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee the inspection and monitoring of the daily activities of all dredgers by coordinating the Dredging Supervisors.
• Ensure dredging is carried out in accordance with approved standards and the Contract specifications.
• Review daily reports from the Contractor and the Dredging Supervisors for all dredgers, and report progress and findings to the Dredging Project Engineers.
• Ensure required protocols are followed by Contractor during disposal operations at offshore disposal ground.
• Review performance and efficiency of dredgers, especially during execution of day works, and report findings and make recommendations to the Dredging Project Engineers.
• Review Company records of all standby time and reconcile with Contractor claims. Report findings to Dredging Project Engineers.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualifications at Certificate III level or higher in dredging, civil engineering or a related discipline and/or extensive practical experience in large dredging projects.
• Minimum of 10 years experience working on large-scale dredging projects in Australia.
• Extensive knowledge of the methods and procedures used in dredging operations related to commercial ports.
• Be able to communicate with staff on all levels.
• Understanding of techniques used to monitor turbidity adjacent to dredging operations, including implications arising from the monitoring results.
• Experience in or knowledge of dredging hard rock without the use of blasting is desirable.
• Experience in or knowledge of underwater blasting activities is desirable.
