A major international oil and gas operator

The Role:
Drill Site Manage (DSM) needed for Clients' Decision Support Center (DSC) located in Houston, Texas. The DSC DSM is responsible for managing the DSC operations team who provide well control support to multiple rig site teams, by focusing on Process Collaboration, Decision Support, and Real Time Monitoring.

Overview: client has established drilling and completion operation in over 20 countries around the world with an exploration/new ventures team that plans and executes start up projects in new countries where Client has not yet established production operations. This Consultant DSC DSM position requires very high proficiency in well control concepts and practices.
The successful candidante must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment supporting multiple operations worldwide and should possess a wide array of operational experience in multiple basins, including deepwater. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
1) Leader of day-to-day operations of the Drilling and Completions Decision Support Center (D&C DSC), providing work direction for DSC staff of Operations Engineers and Drilling Technologists
2) Communicates with rig and office-based personnel to assess well control issues and formulate solutions during unexpected events or critical situation management.
3) Actively participates in direct discussion with rig (i.e. Morning Calls).
4) Is familiar with RUMS and VBWO for the well. Collaborates with rig site Operations Team to successfully execute drilling program. When needed, collaborates with Operations Team to document changes to execution plan (MOC).
5) Facilitates involvement of ETC Subject Matter Experts as necessary to perform more specialized analysis.
6) Mentors and coaches early career employees and provides formal training on operations of DSC.
7) Manages knowledge capture, including Lessons Learned, Best Practices, global metrics and ensures ready access by global D&C community.
8) Manages monitoring, analysis, and integration of D&C data to support global Client D&C operations.
9) Feedback and recommendations from DSC staff will be used to make multi-million dollar decisions on well operations.
10) This position will require demonstrated remote and harsh environmental operations skill sets.
11) Previous experience with Client operating standards, procedures, and practices is a plus.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Minimum of 20 years experience in onsite supervision of drilling operations in remote locations or similar on-site / remote well logging and monitoring experience.

Certification: Applicants must be able to successfully complete Client’s IADC certified Well Control training in order to achieve certification for well control.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
1) Strong communication skills are imperative.
2) English language skills. Language skills other than English are not required, but will be a plus.
3) A valid IADC Well Control Certificate (or equivalent) is required for consideration of this position.
4) Strong emphasis on safety of personnel and assures compliance with all applicable environmental regulations & policies.
5) Demonstrated ability to apply new technology.

Additional Comments: THIS IS A SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION The duration of this Consultant DSC DSM position will be approximately 2 to 3 years, working a 14 days on /14 days off schedule, with travel time on the consultant’s days off. Houston based individuals will return to their home after each shift, while out-of-town individuals will receive a stipend for expenses in Houston.
