The Company:
An International downstream Company with Refining and Supply Operations. Who pride themselves by continually brining innovative new products to the market whilst remaining environmentally friendly. Exporting to over 60 countries worldwide.

The Role:
Responsible for the accounting and reporting of the operated drilling activity within the UK joint venture area, along with the maintenance of the joint venture inventory accounting records.
Complete Description:
Responsible for the accounting for all operated drilling activity carried out in the UK. This would include responsibility for monitoring approximately £50m of annual drilling expenditure.


• Month end well accruals, to be calculated and posted onto SAP.
• Daily drilling forecasts to be checked and maintained.
• Variance analysis against budget / AFE / previous forecasts.
• First point of contact for all UK operated drilling accounting requests.
• Production of drilling costs for UK management reports.
• Invoice coding, contract compliance and checking against commitment and budget levels.
• Organise and participate in regular inventory/stock checks at all locations where stock is held (including 3rd party storage).
• Presentation of UK operated drilling accounting status to internal management & partners.

Accounting decisions regarding well accounting are laid out in the Drilling Accounting Manual. One of the key responsibilities is to ensure that this is adhered to with a consistent approach. There is a requirement for the Drilling Accountant to make recommendations for additions or changes to this manual.

There may be a requirement to visit our warehouse facilities and also 3rd party vendor's premises.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge of Drilling Accounting, with hands on experience
Basic understanding of Drilling
Good forecasting and arithmetic skills
Knowledge/understanding of stock-inventory control & management
Good understanding of Joint Venture accounting
Good knowledge of SAP
Good knowledge of Excel
