The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.
In Australia they are involved in one of the Country's largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in Execution Stage.

The Role:
A new role has arisen for a Drilling Accountant to join this Perth based team - As a member of the Finance Team you will be providing Drilling Accounting for the Exploration and Development Drilling campaigns within the dedicated Well Construction and Integrity team, working under the supervision of the Senior Drilling Accountant on the project.

You will be responsible for meeting the requirements of internal customers by delivering efficient and effective processes, assisting the business in their planning process (i.e. budgeting/forecasting) and participating in business improvements and team development. You will support the Senior Drilling Accountant – Development Drilling in respect of the execution of finance operations for the drilling campaigns.

Responsibilities includes:
• Compliance with company accounting principles and the Drilling Accounting Framework.
• Continuously improve and deliver monthly financial reports for project management that monitor Drilling cost performance, identify divergent performance, provide accurate and reconcile campaign cost control information (reconciliation of wells, inventory, tool rentals, consumables, bulk and chemicals reconciliations) and focuses attention on critical objectives such as cash required, budget, forecasts, and AFE position.
• Support decision analysis by identifying divergent trends in Drilling activities (analysis of Daily Drilling reports and their reconciliation of key activities and cost categories within SAP), aiding with benchmarking, assisting in contract negotiations (as required), and propose solutions to achieve planned performance/outcomes.
• Participate in improvement of the delivery of services and processes that meet project requirements and shift emphasis from historic review to performance management
• Support change in Management Accounting and other initiatives for the broader Finance team
• Support improvement of service level, process integration and integrity while maintaining ongoing relationships

This role is based on a 3 year project.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Undergraduate Degree - Accounting (essential)
• CPA/CA/CIMA (or similar international recognition)
• > 5 years’ experience as a Drilling accountant in diverse working environments including E&P Exploration and Development
• > 3 years working closely with financial or joint venture accounting team
• Other relevant background would include positions in service companies, mining or energy companies.
• > 2 years of SAP - demonstrably capable – FI/CO PS module with some knowledge of MM, BW and other modules.
• Proven capability to influence changes and adapt to varying job requirements
• Reporting, business interaction, organising and conducting personal activities
• Australian business environment impacting E&P majors - including contracting strategies, commercial structures, project management techniques
• International accounting standards and activity based costing
