The Role:

Technical/Functional -

Timely coding review and Service Receipting of drilling invoices.

Identify and implement process improvements relating to the drilling invoice process.

Goods Receipt / Invoice Receipt (GR/IR) Account investigation and clearance.

Timesheets – assist users with queries, chase up missing and unapproved timesheets.

Ensure Approvers Authority Matrix is adhered to in sphere of activity, and that the Nexen Controls environment is followed, in coordination with the Internal Controls Advisor.

Provide Support & Training to the Finance Placement Student in raising Service Entries & Service Entry Uploads, and monitor progress to ensure that Invoices are being coded accurately & processed in a timely manner.

Provide financial assistance to the Interventions team. This includes assisting with AFE preparation, month end reporting, full year forecasting and cost analysis.

Support the ongoing development of the SAP system, specifically in relation to issues affecting area of responsibility.

Provide cover for the Cost Tracker of Wells when required by the Drilling Accountants.

Ad hoc assignments to provide assistance to the Drilling Accounting Lead, Drilling Accountants (and the wider Finance Ops team) when required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years general accounting background in the oil industry.
SAP experience preferable.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of accounting for drilling operations and well reconciliations preferable.
Good communication skills (both interpersonal and written).
Excellent systems skills.
Demonstrates good use of initiative.
Self-confident, approachable, flexible and independent attitude.
