The Role:
The OE Drilling Engineer is technical expertise holder for four of the fundamental engineering capabilities of well design; borehole stability analysis, borehole positioning analysis, drilling optimization (EDM/IDM) and blowout scenario analysis.

A mature understanding of well operations, an in-depth knowledge of the modeling packages and excellent communication/mentoring skills are fundamental to success in the job.

This is a new position and it is understood that the successful applicant will need to develop some capabilities in-post.

A framework exists for this development to happen in an effective way. In particular, borehole stability services will be provided by an internal consultant in 2012 and high end support is at hand.

The Drilling Engineer position provides an excellent opportunity for and experienced engineer who wants to develop a career as a technical Wells professional or as a well design specialist. A minimum assignment of four years is expected.

Although located in Aberdeen, the scope of the job is xx Wells wide. The Drilling Engineer position is in the Engineering services team
