The Role:
Planning
•Ensure all planning is performed in accordance with the company Management System.
•Liaise with the company Exploration and Subsurface functions on well objectives and planning cycle times.
•Collect and review offset well data, prepare well design, and conduct casing design.
•Prepare well time estimate, and liaise with drilling accountants on AFE development.
•Prepare drilling programme, liaise with service companies and drilling contractor as required.
•Prepare regulatory submissions, and monitor progress of review/approvals.
•Conduct internal peer reviews, DWOP/TWOP, rig move and pre-spud meetings as required.

Operations
•Provide operations support during drilling.
•Monitor performance, supervise and motivate rig team and service companies.
•Ensure compliance with programme(s) and D&C procedures.
•Review and approve service company invoices.

Post-operations
•Prepare detailed end of well report, with emphasis on learnings, future improvements, and time/cost reconciliation.

Performance improvement
•Identify areas where performance may be improved, conduct/supervise initiatives to achieve same, and monitor their effect.

Professional development
•Continue personal professional development.
•Development of specialist skill(s) in areas relevant to D&C operations is an advantage.

Undertake any other duties as required by the D&C management team.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Engineering degree or equivalent
•Appropriate experience of drilling and completion planning and/or operations.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Experience of associated technical areas such as mud design, cementing, directional planning / BHA design, geoscience and reservoir engineering is an advantage.
