The Company:
Our Client is one of the world's largest Oil and Gas companies. The Role:
•Perform drilling engineering e.g. preparation, SOW, operation programs in a timely manner, in liaison with the other project members (Completion/testing..)
•Prepare drilling programmes/end of well reports and co-ordinate other specialist inputs
•Undertake technical studies and apply technical skills and innovative thinking to obtaining positive outcomes: propose changes and/or innovations with properly identified risks and expected benefits
•Ensure optimisation of safe working practices are considered in the development of operational programmes
•Positively participate in teams of multi-disciplinary engineers in providing engineering solutions and in preparation process programmes
•Provide technical advice on specific area of technical expertise
•Accurately prepare budget and duration required for the Project
•Supervise small task forces, comprising junior engineers and contractors to resolve engineering/technical issues and lead operational implementation of solutions
•Update and follow up of equipment preparation for non-routine operations and offshore supervision
•Update and follow-up of the rig cost control for service contracts involved in drilling and completion operations
•Liase closely with Operations to support implementation of engineering work plans, providing live drilling engineering support to operations (casing design, directional, hydraulics, swab and surge, torque and drag, well control calculations etc..)
•Daily selection and follow up of directional drilling equipment (Bit, BHA, Rotary Steerable Systems)
•Follow up and improving well performances
•Follow up and update of the well performance dossiers and launch of appropriate action plans
•Act as Drilling Superintendent whenever necessary
•Supervise and coach entry level engineers
•Actively promote “share experience” within and outside the department
•Prepare applications (DTI submission notifications) and returns to external agencies as required to satisfy the overall drilling programme in a timely manner
•Effective contract management of contracts (operational cost) with a view to optimising value and to take decisions with respect to the job holder’s technical speciality
•As contract rep for directional services, follow up of contractor performances, plan and conduct QA/QC audit and monthly SQM

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•The job holder will hold a BSc of MSC or equivalent in appropriate engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Offshore or Petroleum) with relevant experience in well engineering
•Organisational skills to prioritise and manage a heavy workload in a rapidly changing environment
•Good computer skills, especially in Drilling Engineering softwares (DSP-one, wellcat, ECDElf..)
•Job Holder will be committed to developing skills and experience in technical discipline e.g. well completion design, well architecture calculation etc
•Well developed knowledge of contractual/legal/terms & conditions/insurance issues
