The Role:
Provide technical expertise on drilling engineering to the Operations and Development teams.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
HSE
•Exhibit safe behaviours at all times when on company property and/or on company business
•Comply with all HSEQ policies and standards
•Apply the HSEQ Management System as appropriate to the relevant area of the business
•Comply with the companys Well Design and Operations Management Standards, Statutory Regulations and Industry Guidance Notes.

ENGINEERING
Participate in the well engineering of projects through the Execute workphase through to end of well closeout for all drilling and exploration activities. Specifically;
•Develop HSE Notification of Well Operations and detailed Drilling Programme using the Drilling Basis Of Design developed during the Define phase
•Support the Senior Operations Drilling Engineer / Wells Team Leader in developing realtime planning solutions to operational problems and produce required MOC documentation during the Execute phase of the well.
•Develop detail Master Equipment List in conjunction with the Offshore Materials and Logistics Co-ordinators
•Review functional specifications of equipment and services and ensure all are fit for the proposed well construction activity
•Compile Drilling End of Well report and review service company end of well documentation
•Make continuous effort to improve regional well construction performance
•Engage fully in Continuous Improvement Process supporting the requirements of the Performance Coaches in the development of material for DWOPs and other similar sessions
•Engage the Completion and Subsea teams to ensure a seamless transition of operations for all phases of the well construction making sure that none of the overall well objectives are compromised
•Prepare and contribute to the company Peer Review process where required

Related activities:
•Provide input into well conceptual designs generated during the pre-Execute phases.
•Participate in technical meetings or Peer Reviews with other regional areas.
•Participate in reviews of the Corporate Well Design and Operations Management Standards documentation.
•Make offshore visits as required
•Make yard visits as required
•Take part in QA / QC and or HSE Audits as required
•Provide feedback to the Planning Drilling Engineer regarding any operational lessons learned that could directly influence the design of future wells during the Select and Define phases of planning.

Project management: to contribute to Well Delivery Process through to end EXECUTE phase
Communication and interpersonal skills: to work across disciplines such as subsurface, development, supply chain
Resourcefulness and creativity: to ensure that optimum solutions are found
Commercial awareness: to liaise with service providers and provide input to the supply chain process
