The Company:
Our client, a diverse Canadian Energy Company, plans new developments estimated at $12+ Billion over the next 5 years.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. Residents of Newfoundland & Labrador will be given first consideration for this position.

The Role:
The incumbent will be responsible for the planning and execution of Horizontal Directionally Drilled (HDD) bores for the marine crossing and representing company's interests during development and execution of the Project. The incumbent will be responsible for:

Detailed Planning
• Contribute in the development of execution plans with accompanying procedures and best practices.
• Interfacing with other aspects of the project, ensuring overall project goals are targeted.
• Ensuring quality of the execution plan meets company’s standards and is delivered in a timely manner.
• Daily involvement in update meetings and planning sessions.
• Management of the work scopes for Onshore aspects of the work.
• Managing cost and schedule throughout project execution.
• Work with Supply Chain Management through all aspect of contracting process including pre-qualification, bidding, clarifications, evaluations, award, execution/invoicing, changes and closeout.
• Manage technical/construction aspects of contracts from award to Project closeout.
• Periodic Site Supervision required throughout the duration of the work.
• Stewardship of company’s high HSEQ standards.
• Ensuring lessons learned from other project activities are incorporated in the project.
• Providing leadership for ensuring the execution plan is followed.
• Capturing lessons learned and ensuring they are incorporated in subsequent operations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Graduation from a recognized university with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• Engineer with 5+ years successful experience related to execution of major projects;
• Strong background in drilling engineering.
• Marine installations project experience, preferably in East Coast Canada marine environments. Seabed infrastructure installation would be an asset.
• Understanding of methods of landfall for subsea cables (or similar) in particular HDD and trenching.
• Prior experience interfacing with consulting engineering companies and execution contractors;
• Experience with contracting process for major projects.
• Experience with monitoring progress and daily costs for oil and gas drilling operations.
• Understanding of engineering processes and management systems;
• Background with resolution of technical / management issues during projects’ planning and execution phases;
• Proven interpersonal, leadership and team skills.

• Excellent facilitation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with a variety of personnel, and other industry participants, both internal and external.
• Ability to quickly assimilate new data, including technical information.
• Skills in effectively managing multiple tasks, often under pressure and within time constraints.
• Knowledge of Quality principals.
