The Role:
Engineering & Operations delivery o Deliver detailed well design and engineering programmes including contingency planning to optimise performance and deliver maximum long term well value. o Optimize well design in line with cost, functionality and safety metrics. Evaluate and propose alternative well designs and drilling technologies. o Develop the execution plan for use in Technical Limit activities. Manage technical input on Drilling well budget for the well including detailed time and cost estimates. o Manage and coordinate service providers input into well planning and operations activity. Identify and order key long lead items required for well operations. o Coordinate and filter Master Equipment Lists. Facilitate scheduling and procurement requirements for well operations. Ensure individual well cost estimates are prepared in a timely manner and monitor daily costs while drilling. Standards, Processes & Technology o Deliver plans according to Company guidelines within the agreed planning schedule. Prepare drilling engineering dispensations and maintain validity of documents through relevant process. o Ensure compliance with well Equipment Assurance Program o Perform and document comprehensive risk assessment for operations. Complete Risk register matrix and close all actions prior to planned operations o Review and implement fit for purpose technology into well design in line with cost control. People & Internal relationships o Assist in the development of the new drilling staff. Responsible for technical knowledge transfer to Challenge Engineers. o Maintain interface with other discipline teams (such as Subsurface, completions, contracts, logistics, Well Interventions, Production teams etc.) to coordinate, clarify and resolve effective well planning.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
o Bachelors or equivalent degree in an engineering discipline.
Essential experience and job requirements o Minimum of 7 years of drilling engineering planning and design experience o Experience planning and designing Wells for Semi-submersible rigs, Platforms, rig based work-over operations o Working experience in drilling engineering role either with Major International Oil Company or National Oil Company o Valid Industry accredited Well Control for Subsea and Surface Supervisory Level : International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), International Well Control Forum (IWCF) WellCap. o Minimum Upper Immediate English Proficiency for Reading, Writing and Speaking

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Desirable criteria & qualifications o Masters degree in engineering discipline o Experience in High Pressure, Extended Reach Drilling, Narrow Margin Frac/Pore Pressure, Managed Pressure Drilling, Casing Wear Management o Demonstrable capabilities of developing, training and coaching less experienced drilling engineers o Implementation of knowledge management plans, Technical Limit, capturing lessons learnt and integration into future drilling design programmes & procedures. o Proven track record as strong team player. o Computer literacy in Microsoft applications and morning reporting/database systems (i.e. Open-Wells)
