The Company:
Our Client is a Leading Global Operator in the Oil and Gas Industry.

The Role:
To provide Drilling Engineering direction and input to the Appraisal drilling program planned for Algeria or Libya locations, which may include a new rig start up. The position will be located in our client's London office, and will report to the Engineering Team Leader.

Roles & Responsibilities
Well engineering planning & subsurface interface, cost estimating, support rig and service strategy/tender process and support logistic set up. Perform these tasks in line with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and OMS guidelines:

- Technical input for Rig Strategy, Prequalification, Tender and Implementation including start-up programme
- Technical input for well services and long lead management and ordering.
- Act as the single point of accountability for well planning and subsurface interface for Appraise and Select.
- Ensure effective communication of well plans to the Algeria operations based team.
- Provide well cost estimates, project budget estimates and formal FM and AFE preparation
- Preparation of regulatory requirements
- Offset data review and key well design assumptions
- Planning torque, drag, hydraulics, ECD, swab & surge calculations for drilling and running casing
- Preparation of well engineering Decision Support Packages
- Preparation of Basis of Design documents – casing design, fluids, cementing, directional, survey, bits and suspension.
- Liaison with service contractors for planning and support requirements
- Maintain Lessons learnt register for well engineering
- Support operations team in delivery of Drilling Programs and amendments
- Support of Drilling Programs and amendments
- Support the procurement contract tender and evaluation process
- Support logistics and civil engineering requirements

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education: University degree required

Certification: IWCF well control, UKOOA Medical, Fire fighting & Survival

Languages needed: Fluent in English (French a plus)

- Solid Drilling Engineering background, 10 years +;
- Onshore & Remote operations experience;
- Excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment;
- Operator experience
