The Role:
Our client, one of the world’s largest oil & gas exploration and production organisations have an opportunity for a Drilling Engineer with 5-10 years experience from an operating company to join their team in Poland. The successful applicant will support the development of alternate scenarios and options, including horizontal drilling from multi well pads, and vertical wells from multiple locations, including all mechanical risk factors, and mitigating actions for appraisal and development scenarios.

This is a staff position with full relocation package if required.

Key Responsibilities:
• Interface with the Asset Subsurface team to ensure alignment in all well planning and execution efforts for an initial shale gas exploration and well test program.
• Use DA, RUMS, CSOC and CPDEP practices and tools for project decision making.
• Develop well designs and drilling programmes for exploration, appraisal and development wells for land based program in shale gas region of Poland.
• Provide operational support, detailed completion/ test procedure for initial exploration wells including horizontal with multi stage fracturing treatments.
• Create time and cost estimates for a variety of well operational procedures.
• Liaise with subsurface professionals in all aspects of well design and execution providing onshore operational support to the Drilling Superintendent during the execution phase of projects.
• Provide technical input for all required contracts.
• Prepare and submit all relevant Governmental and HSE notifications and approvals within required timetables.
• Provide day to day operational support to the Drilling Superintendent during ongoing well operations.
• Ensure compliance with Well Examination Process, and Change Management processes
• Work with Drilling Contractors and service providers to promote and enhance the operational teamwork philosophy, emphasizing safety and environmental awareness and improved efficiency in well construction
• Maintain professional technical capabilities, in particular, awareness of new or novel drilling techniques and processes.

Qualifications / Experience:
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in relevant engineering discipline.
• 5 – 10 years Drilling engineering experience in well design and drilling operations engineering with preferred experience in horizontal drilling.
• Ability to complete final well reports post execution phase.
• Demonstration of Safety Leadership Behaviors
• Strong communications skills.
• Proven track record in delivering projects on schedule and budget, and meeting technical drilling objectives.
• Proven experience in drilling optimisation
• Experience and proven ability to develop detailed well designs, time cost estimates and detailed drilling procedures.
• Proven Ability to support and supervise drilling operations including identification and ordering of long lead equipment items and drilling optimisation.
