The Role:
-Collect and analyze well data received from geologists, geophysicists and third party contractors in order to develop well design in line with well design engineering principles.
-Develop the Drilling program to guide the implementation of field activities such as casing, cementing and logging.
-Collect all the implementation data from various sources e.g. geophysicists, rig superintendent, third party contractors in order to assess the quality of implementation and develop recommendations for corrective actions and consolidation of best practices for the future.
-Provide technical evaluation of vendors to the Procurement department in order to ensure that the most qualified, competent and cost effective vendors are selected
-Provide recommendations of vendors to the Procurement department for competent and cost effective vendors.
-Based on the data from the Design programs, prepare the budget for the Approval of Expenditure (AFE).
-Contribute to the preparation of the drilling budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified.
-Support the Supervising Drilling Engineer in the compliance with HSE and Government regulations through the provision of relevant information needed for the purpose.
-Present and respond to queries from the Environment Impact Assessment Technical Committee in order to satisfy them.
-Follow and implement all processes are carried out in line with company policies, procedures and regulations and international standards in order to ensure a safe working environment so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
-Develop and issue the completion program in line with the requirements of the reservoir engineering department and consistent with principles of engineering design which are ‘fit for purpose’

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
-University degree in Physics, Engineering or equivalent. Background and training in Drilling Engineering is preferred.
-2 to 3 years of experience in Drilling Engineering Design and Operations, including at least 2 years in the field operations
-Formal training in Directional Drilling, Well Design & Well Control theory from a recognized industry source is desirable.
-Familiar with the use of Well Engineering software such as Wellview, Landmark or equivalent.
