The Company:
A major international oil and gas operator seeks experienced drilling

The Role:
The client is actively developing Marcellus shale acreage drilling horizontal gas wells in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Operations include air drilling and drilling of laterals with synthetic oil based mud. Laterals are geosteered in complex 3D trajectories. Current operations include 4 air rigs and 4 rigs drilling with synthetic oil based mud. By the fourth quarter of 2012, operations will include 8 air rigs and 12 rigs drilling with synthetic oil based mud. Operations are subject to high levels of public scrutiny.

Primary duties of Drilling Engineer will include developing and maturing well plans through the client process, applying RUMS and other pertinent key work processes, and working with industry resources to advance technologies needed to safely drill Marcellus gas wells. The client has many new contractors who are still developing their safety culture. This position will also be responsible for helping successfully influence the business partners through the use of Client Way and Clear Leader behaviors.

This will be an office based role in Pittsburgh.

Position is available as direct hire or contractor status.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
5+ years experience
Directional and horizontal drilling experience
Shale experience is a plus
