The Company:
Large international oil and gas exploration and production company is seeking an experienced individual for the position of Drilling HES Manager for one of their joint venture operations in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The Role:
The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

Assist in the evaluation of contractor incident statistics for trends, and develop global and/or business unit specific improvement plans/programs. Identify "costs" of incidents to compare against "costs" of prevention.

Assist in the identification, development, deployment, and institutionalization of HES standards and best practices globally.

Perform follow-up on Peer Assists, Peer Reviews and Risk Assessment recommendations, to get a first-hand view of the work performed, and to advise on specific issues.

Provide audit support and HES bid specifications to Supply Chain Management during bidding process for new contracts.

Assist, or lead, investigations of significant incidents. Provide inspection and audit support of contractor safety programs and activities.

Keep current on processes and technologies that will help Company attain and maintain a best-in-class HES statistical position.

Assist in providing HES orientation support for new hires.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

BS degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent degree.

Fifteen years experience in safety and health related fields. 

Fifteen years experience in drilling operations.

Extensive knowledge of working in Hydrogen Sulfide environments.

Five years of supervisory experience. 

Capability to successfully interface with management at all organizational levels.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Additional Desired Qualifications:

Professional Certification such as CSP.

Previous experience working in Middle East operations.

Strong communication, negotiation and teamwork skills.
