The Company:
Our Client is an Africa focused oil and gas group, based in Edinburgh and traded on AIM. It holds significant equity interests in onshore and offshore exploration acreage in Cameroon and onshore acreage in Kenya.

The Role:
-Manage all drilling, production testing and completion activities.
-Co-ordinate, source and manage human and material resources for drilling activities to achieve results in a safe, secure and timely manner.
-Ensure that well programmes are developed and reported.

Key Responsibilities
1.In discussion with the COO, develop fit for purpose organisations for planned drilling operations, staff and manage these organisations.
2.Ensure that well operations are properly planned and are executed in a safe manner in line with Group WDP and SWEMS.
3.Ensure planned drilling operations are properly budgeted and resourced; develop AFE’s and regularly report operational costs against approved AFE’s.
4.In co-ordination with the GM West Africa liaise with Partners and other in-country regulatory authorities, as appropriate in the planning and reporting of drilling operations.
5.Manage the Cameroon supply base.
6.Ensure custom duty and taxes are paid as and when required.
7.Liaise with other E&P operators and partner companies in-country.
8.Implement contracting and purchasing activities in support of drilling operations in line with company’s commitment and expenditure approvals policy and delegated authorities.
9.Ensure local environmental requirements are met in the planning and execution of drilling activities.
10.Ensure reporting mechanisms are in place for drilling activities, including costs.
11.Implement a system for performance improvement and for incorporating lessons learnt in current and future drilling operations.
12.Ensure that there is an effective and workable Emergency Procedures Plan in place and that this plan addresses the individual responsibilities of staff and consultants offshore, in the operating office and in Edinburgh. Also to periodically test this plan with appropriate exercises.
