The Role:
Our Global Mining client require an experienced Drilling Materials Controller to work withPNG Supply Chain operations and ensure activities are conducted in line with HSE values and policies.

Working closely with Supply Chain Management to develop effective inventory management and cost tracking processes to ensure transparent financial and physical maanagement of assets and materials.

Manage the transfer, issue, inventory control and storage of all drilling related materials at the Forward Supply Base and the various staging and operating locations.

Within this role you will provide leadership, motivation and direction to all western province based SCM staff whilst actively promoting a strong safety and leadership culture.

You will maintain a very close working relationship with Drilling Site Management, the Field Operations Support Team (this to incorporate river and aviation logistics), the Foreward Supply Base warehouse and utilise the inventory coontrol system to ensure timely and continuous supply to drilling operations whilst optimising materials stocks and flows within the supply chain system.

Closely monitor materials issues to drilling site to guarantee availability of such as necessary to meet immediate operational needs contributing to the company's overall inventory optimisation objectives whilst limiting over supply.

A major part of this position will be the provision of HSE leadership in all Supply Chain and related acitvities - The expectation is that you will promote awareness of teh HSE Positive Performance Tools with a particular emphasis on JHA, STOP, HAZID, Step Back 5 x 5 and Near Miss Reporting.

Record keeping and inventories pertaining to Drilling Activities in PNG should be carefully maintained including equipment receipts and return records are maintained.

All of the above will be achieved only through working closely with Drilling Supervisors to truly understand the finer points of the work being undertaken throughout the country.

The effcetiveness of this position and its incumbant will be measured through KPI's as follows:

* Demonstration that safe work practices are being adopted within the Supply Chain Scope by achieving IFO targets (daily toolbox meetings, completion of weekly safety tours on a regular basis using standard inspection checklist
* Utilising STOP and Hazard ID cards effectively to support IFO goals
* Maintaining accurate and up to date Inventory Records at all times
* Maximo inventory records to be kept accurate and up to date
* Minimise, with a view to eradicating completely, delays to Drilling Operations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Tertiary or Trade based Qualfications complimented by extensive employment offering exposure to Drilling, Materials and Logistics activities from which a genuine understanding of operations "on the ground" has been gained
In possession of a minimum of 5 years experince of managing drilling materials on location (especially in isolated construction / drilling areas)
Minimum of 2 years direct supervisory experience
Experienced and familiar with working in remote regions and developing nations
Sound working knowledge of HSSE processes and systems
Previous extensive exposure to the operation and maintencance of a computerized inventory management system

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Good level of computer literacy
Self motivated, knowledgeable and passionate individual who is both capable and happy to work autonomously
