The Role:
The Material Controller will lead the material control activity associated wtih company owned inventories of materials and equipment in support of drilling activity and production operations materials/equipment. These functions include both the financial and tangible aspects of inventory control. Tangible functions include following instructions from Operations and Drilling and Completions personnel as well as Global Procurement to coordinate all inventory material needs for the Kurdistan Asset. This may also include supervision and monitoring over Company inventories typically held at third party facilities and storage yards. Financial functions primarily emphasize the proper recording and reporting of inventory in compliance with Company Accounting Policy, Joint Venture Agreements (when applicable) and COPAS.
The successful candidate will have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, advanced supply chain knowledge on material control and sourcing practices. It is preferred for the successful candidate to have had experience in a leadership role. Addition required skills include: SAP systems and processes advanced experience, strong Drilling materials expertise, able to work with limited supervision and possess exceptional administrative organizational and time management skills.
This position will be located in Erbil, Kurdistan.
• Coordinate with Houston Procurement personnel on new purchases of tubulars, wellhead and other associated material that are charged direct to well WBS’s or inventory including processing of Goods Receipt into SAP.
• Monitor and manage all aspects of company owned inventory while being held at third party facilities and/or storage yards. This includes, but is not limited to, processing of mill reject claims, maintaining a Preventative Maintenance Program, ordering repair work, disposition of surplus and obsolete inventories.
• Coordination of load out instructions to third party storage yards, fabrication of float equipment joints, prepping tubulars for downhole service, servicing material returned from well site and/or facility, etc.
• Coordination of TEL preparation, partnering with local customs agents and freight forwarding partners in re-export process execution,
• Record all activity related to receipt, issuance, transfer, storage, return, maintenance, sale, etc., of drilling inventory into SAP in compliance with Company Inventory Management and Accounting Procedures. Insure at all times that physical inventory is reconciled and in balance with Company’s SAP financial records including third party storage yards’ records as applicable.
• Assist Accounting on answering any internal well reconcilement variances and JV Audit findings related to drilling material events and production material events (under their responsibility).
• Coordinates control and compliance activities to ensure the integrity of inventory.
• Host any Company or JV Physical Inventory Count audits as required.
• Provide subject matter Materials leadership for the location.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Familiarity with non US materials management processes, policies and procedures
• Strong Computer Skills, in particular with Microsoft Office based products (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc)
• Knowledge of SAP MM module and reporting tools
• Strong background in materials control, especially drilling related goods
• Previous experience leading supply chain projects or functions
• Strong coordination skills when working across multiple support groups
