The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, seeks expertise for offshore mega-projects in Canada.

This opportunity is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. First consideration will be given to residents of Newfoundland & Labrador.

The Role:
As the Drilling Operations Supervisor you will have multiple responsibilities, specifically:
• Primary Drilling Operations liaison between the Drilling Operations group and the Project Design and Construction team
• Attendance at weekly meetings to review status of design issues as they relate to subsequent drilling operations
• Review of engineering studies, vendor designs/submissions, layout drawings, P&IDs, PFDs, and reports for the purposes of identifying impacts to future drilling operations. Where applicable these reviews may take the form of meetings and sessions (as opposed to written reports).
• Participation in, and review of, HAZOPS, HAZIDs, and/or Risk Assessments related to the design and operation of the full Platform facility for the purposes of identifying impacts to drilling operations
• Stewardship of the Drilling Operations and Maintenance Contractor personnel who will be responsible for the eventual operation of the drilling facilities.
• Responsible for implementation of policies in the rig design. The successful candidate will need to acquire an intimate working knowledge of operational policies (for example, issues such as safety, well control, business conduct, simultaneous activities, and drilling procedures) and ensure these policies are fully implemented or capable of being implemented.
• Responsible for ensuring all Regulatory aspects of Drilling Operations (including environmental issues) can be successfully implemented into the eventual rig package in the As-Built condition.
• Travel as necessary to various locations for the purposes of business meetings, equipment reviews, vendor shop visits, or site construction updates.
• Provide oversight of the development of rig maintenance procedures and spare parts inventory requirements in conjunction with the O&M Contractor and the Project Team
• Provide oversight of the development of commissioning procedures in conjunction with the Project Team and the O&M Contractor.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum 15 years diversified international offshore experience with a minimum 3 years Platform experience, preferably in an integrated Drilling / Production facility environment
• Prior experience working for a major Operator or Drilling Contractor
• Experience in a wide variety of Drilling and Completion operations including open hole gravel pack completions
• Previous experience with drilling rig construction, commissioning and start-up activities considered a strong asset
• Proficient in typical Microsoft computer based applications
• Must hold current certification for Offshore Survival (BST) and International Subsea Well Control
• Prior supervision experience directing large multidiscipline groups supporting offshore operations and projects
• Demonstrated reliability and high level of responsibility in a broad spectrum of offshore activities
• Read, write and speak fluent English
