The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, seeks expertise for offshore mega-projects in Canada.

This opportunity is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. First consideration will be given to residents of Newfoundland & Labrador.

The Role:
The main responsibilities of Drilling Operations Supervisor:

• Primary Drilling Operations liaison between the Eastern Canada Drilling Operations group and the Project Design and Construction team
• Attendance at weekly meetings to review status of design issues as they relate to subsequent drilling operations
• Review of engineering studies, vendor designs/submissions, layout drawings, P&IDs, PFDs, and reports for the purposes of identifying impacts to future drilling operations. Where applicable these reviews may take the form of meetings and sessions (as opposed to written reports).
• Participation in, and review of, HAZOPS, HAZIDs, and/or Risk Assessments related to the design and operation of the full Platform facility for the purposes of identifying impacts to drilling operations
• Stewardship of the Drilling Operations and Maintenance Contractor personnel who will be responsible for the eventual operation of the drilling facilities. It is currently planned to engage the O&M Contractor.
• Responsible for implementation of policies in the rig design. The successful candidate will need to acquire an intimate working knowledge of ExxonMobil’s operational policies (for example, issues such as safety, well control, business conduct, simultaneous activities, and drilling procedures) and ensure these policies are fully implemented or capable of being implemented..
• Responsible for ensuring all Regulatory aspects of Drilling Operations (including environmental issues) can be successfully implemented into the eventual rig package in the As-Built condition.
• Travel as necessary to various locations for the purposes of business meetings, equipment reviews, vendor shop visits, or site construction updates.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum 15 years diversified international offshore experience with a minimum 3 years Platform experience, preferably in an integrated Drilling / Production facility environment
• Experience in a wide variety of Drilling and Completion operations including open hole gravel pack completions
• Previous experience with drilling rig construction, commissioning and start-up activities considered a strong asset
• Must hold current certification for Offshore Survival (BST) and International Subsea Well Control

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
The Eastern Canada Drill team is currently seeking a 20 year Drilling Supervisor with Platform based work experience for an office based position in it’s St. John’s, Newfoundland, location. This position is based on a standard 40 hour work week (5 days on, 2 days off) and requires residency in St. John’s, Newfoundland. The successful candidate shall report to the Eastern Canada Platform Drilling Superintendent and have full and complete oversight responsibilities for operational input into the development, drilling rig designs and construction process for ongoing projects.
