The Company:
Our client are a leading Upstream Oil and Gas Company

The Role:
The role is London based, but with international mobility and successful Candidate must be capable of, and be prepared to:

1. Travel to the Algeria base office and field drilling locations on a regular basis.
2. Visit, review and audit suppliers’ premises both within and outside Algeria.

Support for other E&P Offshore drilling operations and other alternate locations may be required on an infrequent basis.

Responsible for providing quality management support to the Drilling Manager and operations manager and their teams during all phases of the project but at present primarily for the Well Delivery Programme towards meeting regulatory, company and industry requirements.

In order to meet the company’s HSE responsibilities:
• Exhibit safe behaviours at all times when on company property and/or on company business
• Comply with all HSEQ policies & regulations
• Apply the HSEQ Management System as appropriate to the relevant area of the business

General Overall Responsibilities:
• Reporting to the Algeria Drilling Manager, provide competent, proactive and professional quality management support to the Drilling team during its design, planning, procurement and management of well operations.
• Provide support to the Drilling Manager in the development of his team’s quality management processes and procedures, and undertake management system reviews and audits as required by the Drilling Manager. Work with the Drilling HSE team to ensure management systems integrate regulatory and company HSEQ requirements.
• Provide critical review of draft ITTs scopes of work and ensure that suitable and sufficient quality assurance and quality control requirements are incorporated into the contract requirements by the Supply Chain Management team.
• Participate in tender reviews to verify that tenderers have understood and can comply with contract quality requirements.
• Develop supplier/contractor risk-based quality surveillance plans.
• Manage the efficient and effective use of external inspection services contractors that support NCR’s supplier surveillance.
• Take a leading role in the development of a proactive quality management culture;
• Ensure critical suppliers are systematically assessed through a rigorous performance quality review process to identify areas for improvement and increased surveillance focus, to achieve an excellent performance;
• Establish and manage the NCR system.
• Provide positive mentoring to the Drilling Team and suppliers, peers and throughout the business unit on quality management issues.
• Participate proactively in quality improvement initiatives to improve business performance, and especially those being led by the quality management function..

Specific Responsibilities
• Through a clear strategy, careful planning and performance monitoring drive excellent quality management performance in both staff and contractor communities;
• Actively participate in operational & project specific meetings on all quality management matters;
• Establish and lead quality management meetings /conference Calls between the Company E&P Algeria and Contractors / service companies as required;
• Manage inspection services contractors that supply external inspection support to
• Act as a competent point of contact for external Regulatory and other stakeholders;
• Prepare, organise & deliver general & issue specific quality management training as required;
• Establish & lead quality improvement campaigns to target key risks associated with operational assets & projects;
• Manage the collection & timely reporting of key proactive & reactive performance quality metrics to the organisation;
• Participate in (& where appropriate lead) incident investigation teams including closeout of actions;
• Plan and execute quality management audits on operated assets and / or contractors as required;

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Min. 10 years experience in drilling operations, of which 5 years must be in a quality management role, ideally within an Operator’s drilling team.
Must have some experience of remote, land based drilling operations. ideally in Algeria or similar desert environment.
Good knowledge of international drilling standards and norms.
An appropriate quality management based qualification.
Membership of an appropriate drilling or quality management professional institution (e.g. CQI, ASQ, SPE).
Management systems auditing experience.
Ability to work proactively with senior drilling professionals and supply chain management teams.
Excellent communication. & influencing skills.
Good fluency, both oral and written, in English. Some fluency in French would be an advantage.
Capable of communicating clearly and concisely through written reports and presentations.
The provision of practical & well thought out solutions to quality management requirements and challenges.
