The Company:
Major Operator - Aberdeen Office based - On going Contract

The Role:
Manage Drilling Plan & Budget
•Support the well Operations Manager to prepare annual drilling plan & budget
•Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure well objectives are understood and addressed in the frilling plan
•Plan drilling programs to effectively and efficiently utilise drilling units and meet agreed targets
•Review Drilling activity AFE's and seek approvals
•Review performance and expenditure against plan, analyse trends, propose controls & improvement measures
Manage Standards Compliance
•Ensure the Drilling Management System is fully implemented and applied.
•Review & endorse local policies, procedures, practices and management of change proposals
•Ensure all permits, licences, documents and legal formalities are completed, valid and approved, Approve statutory well submissions
•Review all programmes and POA’s
•Ensure that Operational & HSE policies, procedures & practices are adhered to at all times
•Conduct Well reviews and HSE & Operational compliance site inspections, manage corrective plans.
•Ensure overall standards are maintained at the highest level
Manage Drilling Activities and Performance
•Review drilling and completion programs, monitor daily reports, conduct daily meetings, approve activity projections
•Manage all changes to agreed drilling program, ensuring that well objectives remain intact/agreed and review MOC’s where required.
•Utilize expertise & experience to support the Well Operations team to troubleshoot technical & operational issues
•Monitor HSE and Operational performance indicators and manage compliance, controls, improvement & mitigation measures
•Manage stakeholder engagement to ensure clear communication of performance metrics
Manage Workforce
•Prepare workforce & manpower plan, organisation chart, role descriptions and competence frameworks
•Assist in the recruitment of personnel, ensure adequate induction, orientation & compliance training
•Manage team competence and career development, provide coaching & mentoring to personnel.
•Assign personnel, monitor and manage work performance.
•Manage performance appraisal and ranking of personnel
Manage Contracts, Procurement and Logistics
•Assist in the preparation and manage annual drilling contracting plan
•Ensure contracts are in place & executed in a timely manner, contracted personnel are competent & materials meet required standards
•Monitor contract/contractor performance versus plan
•Liaise with drilling and service contractors to ensure quality of service
•Monitor support services for rig operations & ensure that all are provided & maintained in a timely manner
Manage Discipline Community Performace Excellence
•Community of Practice Leader – Check the E&P Docs site regularly
•Ensure the application of departmental vision, mission and performance metrics, provide tactical leadership
•Encourage practical HSE, Technical, Operations and Compliance performance.
•Review and approve the introduction and testing of new tools and techniques,.
•Manage regular team communication, promote knowledge sharing, team learning & improvement
Manage Major emergency response Central Crisis Centre
•Ensure Crisis Room and team preparedness. Support the Well Operations Manager in major ER response drills
•Supervise Emergency Response Centre
•Coordinate the provision of remedial solutions from internal & external experts and monitor remedial actions
•Review & approve interim & end of situation analysis & reports
•Conduct major Incident-Accident Investigations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experienced practitioner in either Drilling Engineering or Drilling Supervisor roles, and a competent practitioner in the operational aspects of drilling offshore wells in the North Sea or preferably the UKCS.
Have knowledge of UK North Sea legislation and regulatory requirements.

Competent practitioner:
Will have completed all capability training, certification & competence assessments required for the UKCS
•Excellent and clear communicator with good technical and business reporting skills
