The Role:
• Based in the office, the Drilling Superintendent is the well operations team leader Team Leader at the well site for well construction / well testing / well completion / repair / logistics and is responsible for all activities relating to the safety, effectiveness and efficiency of well operations. This is a key position that is pivotal in creating and sustaining healthy HSSE behaviours at the well site. As an active team member of operational high-risk activities the job holder manages the overall Asset HSSE culture.
• Provides well engineering contributions in line with Functional expectations for HSSE, well operations execution, industry best practice, operational performance, and well costs.
Accountabilities for this role include:
• Contributes to delivery of the Business Plan by carrying out the assigned Functional scope of work in accordance with the client's Way and the Internal Control Framework.
• Manages and coordinates the drilling / well testing / completion program implementation in a manner that is consistent with the client's Group Standards.
• Manages and coordinates the execution of the forward plan to deliver well construction / well testing / well completion / repair / logistics deliverables in line with the client's Group’s Top Quartile Framework.
• Supports and challenges the daily work instructions (which are prepared by the well site team) to support the well engineering operations.
• Communicates and coordinates the forward planning activities among the various contractor personnel (based in town) to ensure that the operations are carried out safely and consistent with industry best practice.
• Coordinates the presence of specialist contractors, equipment and materials at the well site to execute the well operations plan.
• Identifies risks and opportunities, while communicating, mitigating and supporting the management of same. Leads risk assessments for forward plans and the MOC process.
• Leans planning for rig inspections and audits.
• Manages the well operations and implements techniques to ensure optimization of the operation.
• Manages the rig contract and conflict resolutions.
• Ensuring all work processes and procedures conform to the client's Standards and meet required level of Quality Assurance.
• Contributes to the improvement of standards and procedures.
• Ensuring proper documentation before and after well activities including hand over certificates.
• Coordinates the inter-disciplinary operational interfaces with Well Engineering activities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience Needed:
• Range of field based drilling experience is fundamental to position.
Experience with floating drilling operations, well testing and subsea completions are fundamental to the position.
Drilling and Well Testing experience in high pressure (+10k) environments will be beneficial for the position.
• Genuine HSSE commitment and behaviours. Able to communicate expectations to rig contractor and service companies at the well site and at the shore base. Must be capable of setting an example of exemplary HSSE behaviours.
• Strong knowledge of a variety of drilling techniques and processes – as well as industry best practice.
• Effective professional relations with service companies at all levels.
• Good knowledge of the E&P Value Chain and of cross-disciplinary interactions with Well Engineering.
• Embraces technical and business innovation concepts.
