Our Client is an independent Australian oil and gas company playing a key role in supplying energy to our region.

They are one of the world’s leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The Role:
Business Environment
Contracts and manages the operation of drilling rigs to conduct the Company’s various work programs. The Superintendent is the front line office based contact for management of the Company’s rig based work programs. The Superintendent is the primary line of communication between the office based technical support staff, the rig implementation team, and the office based rig and third party contractor personnel.

Internal
• Well Delivery Manager
• Business Unit representatives – Geologists, reservoir engineers, etc.
• Project Teams
• Geomatics representatives
• Marine and Air Operations functional representatives
• Wells / Subsea procurement and contracting staff
• Operations skill pool coordinator
External
• Rig Contractor town based management
• Third party contractor representatives
Key Systems and Processes
• Managing Rig Operations (MRO)
• Well Life Cycle Management Process (WLMP)
Reporting Relationships
• The position reports to the Well Delivery Manager

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• BSc / HND in Engineering or equivalent.
• 15 yrs all round drilling and completions experience, of which 8-10 yrs must have been with Drilling & Completions Operations, and ideally of which 3-5 yrs should have been professional Drilling and/or Completions Engineering experience.
• A minimum of 5 yrs of drilling supervisory experience is expected.
• Sound experience in drilling, completions and work-overs.
• Demonstrated mastery of Well Control Operations including current accredited certificate of Well control competency (e.g. IWCF).
