The Company:
Our Client are a new independent oil operator in the North Sea with a dynamic management team who have exciting growth plans to develop operations further in the UKCS.

The Role:
• Ensure all operations are conducted in accordance with legislative requirements and in compliance with the Safety Policies and Procedures of Company, Duty Holder and the Drilling Contractor as appropriate.
• To direct, supervise and coordinate, at the rig site, all Well Operations (drilling and well intervention activities) to ensure that the Well Work Programmes are conducted safely, efficiently and cost-effectively.
• To liaise closely with the Drilling Contractor’s Toolpusher for Rig based activities and the Well Services Supervisor for stand alone Intervention activities to ensure that all operations are planned and conducted safely.
• Ensure the application of the Health and Safety Management Systems of the Drilling Contractor and Company as defined within the jointly agreed Interface Document.
• The Drilling Supervisor is responsible for reviewing the well work programmes which are issued to the rig for implementation. It is his/her responsibility to discuss the programmes with the Drilling Superintendent and the relevant onshore Engineer and to seek clarification, where necessary on the intent of the programme. It is also his/her responsibility to pro-actively suggest potential improvements or to identify the most effective operational methods to conduct the programme offshore.
• Issue of Daily Work Instructions to the Well Site Personnel (via the Senior Toolpusher) for the well operations which are planned for each day.
• The Drilling Supervisor is responsible for the detailed planning and scheduling of future operations to ensure that all logistical requirements are identified in advance and addressed in a timely manner by the offshore and onshore support staff (equipment, personnel, boats, helicopters etc.)
• The Drilling Supervisor is directly responsible for the line supervision of the Company Drilling Materials Controller, Night Drilling Supervisor and the Well Services Supervisor.
• Ensure that the highest Safety Standards are maintained and that all equipment and procedures are in compliance with Regulatory Authority and Company requirements.
• To report daily on all ongoing activities using the Company reporting tools with particular emphasis to be placed on Hazard Identification, Risk Mitigation and losses where they occur.
• To ensure that any Safety Related Incidents or Operational Non-Conformance Events are reported immediately to the Drilling Superintendent and all appropriate actions agreed.
• To report on actions taken to correct Operational Non-Conformance Events.
• To analyse operational problems in conjunction with the onshore and offshore engineering teams to assist with development of corrective actions.
• To understand Company’s BMS and the relevant procedures and processes contained within the system, and operate in accordance with them

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• B. Sc (Eng) plus proven Drilling-Completion Engineering experience including time spent in an offshore supervisor capacity.
• Substantial experience in Drilling Operations (Offshore Rig Superintendent/Toolpusher) plus significant Drilling Supervisor experience.
• IWCF Certificate in Well Control (including Subsea Supervisor for work on a semi-submersible
• Current offshore survival, medical and MIST certification

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Extensive experience in Drilling Operations (Offshore Rig Superintendent /Toolpusher) plus Drilling Supervisor or Night Drilling Supervisor experience
• Can demonstrate experience of leading well engineering projects and teams
• Onshore and offshore oil and gas drilling and completions in a client or operator environment
• Management of service contractors to ensure standards are applied and opportunities for technical and business improvement realised. Previous experience from a supervisory position in leading offshore operations
• Can evidence a commitment to the highest standards of HSE, working continuously for improvement both in own activities and in those of the assets, projects or other business activities in which they are involved.
• A broad knowledge of Well Engineering including drilling and completion design, rig and well equipment both onshore and offshore, and well interventions.
• Excellent general understanding of drilling reporting systems such as IDS/Op
