The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experienced engineering professionals.

The Role:
The candidate will be required to define a component concept from test data, translate it into a design and then take the project through development into production.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks
•Deliver Driveline System(s) on time into production achieving: ◦Quality: Use our Clients engineering quality systems (FMEAs, Robustness Studies) to identify and contain potential quality concerns.
◦Cost: Support Driveline Manager in definition of programme cost targets and work with suppliers to deliver system that achieves these targets.
◦Weight: Support Driveline Manager in definition of programme weight targets and manage CAD engineers to design system that achieves targets.
◦Function: Generate robust System Design Specification to define system functional targets and deliver components to meet targets. Support Test & Development team with DVP planning & execution and ensure supplier tests are completed on time.
◦Package: Manage CAD engineers to achieve static and dynamic clearance targets, negotiate component change in other areas of our Clients Product Development if required to achieve clearances.

•Deliver the commodity programme to meet our Clients Product Creation System (AMPCS) Gateway objectives.
•Define and manage a commodity plan for each programme including design and manufacturing lead-times as well as key AMPCS deliverables timing.
•Manage CAD engineers to deliver designs.
•Provide engineering support for prototype vehicle workshop and production line as required.
•Visit suppliers’ facilities and testing locations (UK & worldwide).
•Track spending on system tooling, engineering and parts and forecast spending to the end of the project to ensure completion within the available budget.
•Complete Change Tracking Documents and Engineering Release Notices to allow engineering changes to be approved by our Client.
•Resolve engineering Electronic Change Management System (eCMS) concerns in a timely fashion.
•Present programme status to Gateways, support Powertrain design reviews, Package Meetings & Powertrain Programme Module Team meetings.
•Lead FMEAs and input to manufacturing Process Failure Modes and Effect Analysis.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Educated to Degree level in related engineering discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
•Experience of delivering a commodity to production, as well as be able to demonstrate a robust engineering approach.
•Ability to prioritise multiple tasks on a daily basis, work flexibly and meet programme deadlines. Self-motivated and driven to achieve results.
•Effective communication skills at all levels of the company.
•Medical clearance to use High speed tracks and Hot and Cold environmental chambers if required to support development activities.
•Full UK Driving licence.
