The Role:
The incumbent will participate in a team of discipline engineers with responsibility for ensuring the safe and efficient operations of Instrument and Electrical systems and equipment within the UKPU at Liverpool Bay.
Iidentification, prioritisation and planning of instrument & electrical system maintenance and reliability improvement activities according to their Safety and Operational criticality. The position will have accountabilities for instrument and electrical engineering discipline issues including compliance with Written Schemes of Examination and Verification, benchmarking performance and developing improvements to improve equipment reliability using RCA techniques. Independently perform complex technical engineering tasks and activities and provide high quality hands-on facilities engineering services on an ad-hoc and continuing basis in order to assist and support the achievement of strategic objectives.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Extensive experience in the oil and gas industry or other similar heavy industrial environment, preferably including a substantial period of direct engineering support to operational offshore and onshore facilities.
-Strong technical knowledge and proven design, construction, commissioning and operational experience in the following areas;
-ATEX / DSEAR electrical and instrumentation systems
-DCS / PLC Process control systems
-ESD systems
-Field instrumentation
-High & low voltage generation systems (Both Islanded and Embedded systems)
-High & low voltage distribution systems
-High & Low voltage motor control centres
-High Voltage (Static) variable speed drives.
-Switchgear, synchronous generators, induction & synchronous motors, transformers, tighting, cables and associated support systems.
-Protection application (switchgear, generators, motors, transformers, cables)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Honours degree in relevant engineering discipline
•Chartered Member of the Institute of Engineers and Technology.
