The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
This position will be responsible for contributing to the Gorgon Downstream construction milestones through electrical construction engineering activities. The role requires day to day dealings with several contractors and site teams including the civil underground contractor, mechanical electrical and instrumentation commissioning above ground contractor, the site preparation contractor, the Joint Venture technical services team and the Joint Venture commissioning team.

Responsibilities of this position include:
• Ensure that facilities are built and installed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications and that applicable project safety and environmental instructions are being followed
• Provide oversight of contractor’s materials management and verification systems
• Verify post-site arrival of procured equipment and engineering equipment
• Interface with Quality Assurance and Quality Control personnel to address quality issues/progress and assist quality audits
• Act as the point of contact for the Site E&I Superintendant on potential barriers and emerging issues
• Assist in the defining and acceptance of performance test acceptance criteria
• Act as the day-to-day interface with EPC contractor during the construction phase, providing a focus on safety, quality, schedule and cost
• Provide pre-commissioning/mechanical completion oversight and verification
• Manage contractor safety performance by conducting weekly HES KPIs.
• Answer contractor technical queries.
• Review and approve contractor work packs, ensuring technical content is correct, acceptable and as per local standards and project specifications.
• Review then approve electrical red line mark ups, ensuring technical content is correct, acceptable and as per local standards and project specifications.
• Review “Issued for Construction” engineering drawings for constructability issues, report issues to the construction team and develop solutions or raise internal technical queries to address issues.
• Provide general engineering support to the construction supervisors as required to achieve construction schedule milestones.

Key job responsibilities

10% Contribute to contractors safety performance by conducting weekly HES KPIs
20% Review and respond to contractor technical queries and assist contracts with the development of Site Instructions.
20% Review and Approve Contractors work method statements work and energisation packs
20% Attend Construction Meeting, record minutes, review and approve contractors red line mark up As-built drawings
20% Provide general engineering support to Construction supervisors, review AFC drawings for constructability issues and develop solutions.
10% Attend construction walk downs, raise walk down punch list items

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Significant experience in electrical engineering in a construction environment and in particular experience in high voltage electric power transmission
• Downstream oil and gas project experience is preferred
• Relevant tertiary qualification is essential
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Self motivated, with the ability to work autonomously
• Confident and clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals across all levels
