The Company:
Our client is a major Oil and Gas Company.

The Role:
Work Scope

Maintain consistency and best practices to ensure best and safest possible plant design and layout configuration.
Work within the plant layout team to assist then in technical requirements associated with the Instrument & Electrical disciplines and closely with the operations group to establish good project communications between the end user & the engineering group.
Act as the focal point to liaise between the plant layout team and Client Instrument and Electrical teams
Attend 60% and 90% model reviews focusing on the E&I scope within the modules and stick built areas and work with the Contractor E&I teams prior to review to assist in the preparation and maturity of the design to
minimize comments in the formal reviews.


Excellent client skills and a strong understanding of all project related technical issues.
The ability to self motivate, and to obtain optimal performance from others.
Experienced in owner management & approval of contractor discipline resource levels to ensure the project is manned to the optimum level and with the correct skill sets in place.
Experienced in Detailed Engineering, Construction and Commissioning phases of a project.
In-depth Knowledge of the best work processes and tools within the industry.
Experience of engineering and design tools and the management of interfaces and data transfer between multiple engineering disciplines.
Hands on experience of all major 3D designer engineering packages.
Maintain company's effectiveness within the discipline by striving for automation and ensure contractors discipline personnel have the required high automation skills..
Ability to prepare, chair and review contractor design model reviews.
Good knowledge of HSE requirements including the ALARP process and inputs to the QRA studies and SID.
Understanding of the importance of safety in design and manage its awareness with the contractor.
Previous experience working on Kazakhstan based projects, Familiarity with both green field and brown field projects and tie-ins.
Work in a global discipline environment and support standardization in procedures, tools and work processes to maximize the best out come from work sharing across contractors or multiple execution offices.
Responsible for reviewing & approving input to technical proposals, estimating the discipline's man-hours for engineering and design work (including definition and approval of work split with different grades and their hours for executing. Agree work scopes.
Detailed knowledge of Instrument & Electrical activities, deliverables, manpower estimates and schedules.
Support the development of material quantities when required for pricing input and developing discipline execution plan within overall execution strategy.
Ensuring correct work flow processes and procedures are in place to implement this strategy.
Applies technical and/or managerial expertise to improve effectiveness and provide guidance to contractor employees within the Instrument & Electrical layout discipline.
Experience in the use of global engineering job sharing.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
20 years Instrument & Electrical design and layout experience working within the oil and gas industry, with both owner operators and leading engineering EPC contractors.
Work with the construction team to ensure the design offers the best possible solution for a timely and safe construction phase of the project, with Good knowledge of constructability techniques.
