The Company:
Our Client is a Global Leading Oil & Gas Operating Company

The Role:
In this position you would be responsible for coordinating the environmental assessment and remediation activities in the Client's Field.

Accountabilities: -

The Assessment and Remediation Advisor will:
• Roll-out and maintain the assessment and remediation program to support ongoing operations and manage liabilities
• Investigate, report and follow-up on environmental incidents in the field.
• Assess risks and implement remediation/mitigation measures that comply with applicable regulations and manage Client’s liability.
• Ensure safe work practices and procedures to manage SHE risks are in place, implemented and are effective
• Comply with all regulatory requirements
• Participate in daily meetings, planning meetings and necessary coordination with the Operations and Project Teams, SOC and other contractors to assure necessary actions are in place
• Train and mentor the project and operations personnel (including local nationals and contractors) on preferred environmental practices.

Special Challenges: -

The challenge is significant in what is a dynamic environment both in terms of potential growth and in terms of the cultural, technical and social environment in which it will take place. The advisor will need to adopt a pragmatic approach to the definition of this work and be prepared to manage a wide range of uncertainties;

• Managing the expectations of the in-field management team in terms of remediation standards and procedures;
• Foster a culture of assessment and remediation practices, including mentoring, encouraging and leading;
• Safeguard Client's integrity and reputation;
• Maintaining good relationships with field personnel and contractors;
• Compliance with demanding schedules, adjusting to changing priorities

The Position will be based primarily in Iraq to perform the coordination of field activities related to assessment and remediation.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Looking for candidate with understanding of the application of environmental International Best Practices and a sound understanding of Risk Management, Risk Analysis and worksite safety.
Position requires a professional with:
• A sound understanding of the technical aspects related to environmental and remediation projects
• Understanding of the application of environmental International Best Practices as well as Company practices.
• Three years of experience in the oil and gas industry in a variety of environmental related positions is preferred;
• Sound understanding of Risk Management, Risk Analysis and worksite safety is essential;
• Fluency in Arabic is a benefit;

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Team member with good interpersonal skills and proven track record of being confident and self-motivated.
Able to work across multiple projects largely unsupervised and deliver results within challenging deadlines and under pressure and ability to interact with senior management and regulatory agencies as required
