Our client is a nuclear specialist, covering both civilian and defence sectors, across the complete lifecycle from New Build, through Operations and Maintenance, to final decommissioning and waste disposal.

EC& Design Engineer Role overview:
The main purpose of EC&I Design Engineer is to provide technically/discipline focused support to the Design Engineer in the production of arrangement and detail drawings, diagrams, basic calculations and other support activities (including compilation of design packs and liaision with document control and adherance to quality standards) associated with the implementation of internal and external projects from concept through to site implementation and operation
Key responsibilities as an EC&I Design Engineer…
• Production of drawings and diagrams to support design development and presentation.
• Progression of design deliverables through the design development process
• Review and comment on internal and external drawings and diagrams
• Preparation of basic calculations
• Selection of propriety equipment associated with projects and work packages.
• Carry out site surveys, inspections and information collation activities.
• Produce bid, tender and construction drawings using CAD systems.
• Assist the Design Engineer in the preparation of cost estimates for production of designs and drawings.
• Assist the Design Engineer in the compilation and preparation of specifications and contract documentation.
• Ensure defined project tasks are completed to quality and within time and budget constraints, in compliance with relevant standards/legislation and internal and, where appropriate, customer procedures.
• Assist with the implementation of project site works.
Ideally you will have the following skills, experience and attributes…
• A recognised Engineering Certificate such as ONC/HNC/HND
• Demonstrable experience in a design and project management environment in a high technology industry
• Experience of delivery and amending drawings, block cable diagrams and designs to achieve a functional or requirements brief.
• A strong ability in the use of AutoCAD 2014 and/or Inventor
• An ability to work to tight deadlines
• Be a strong team player.
• A full UK driver’s licence.
