The Company:
Our client is a nuclear specialist, covering both civilian and defence sectors, across the complete lifecycle from New Build, through Operations and Maintenance, to final decommissioning and waste disposal.

The Role:
Discipline: Control, Electrical & Instrumentation
Working Hours: 37.5 hrs/week
Reporting to: Engineering Manager as line manager. CE&I Engineers on project delivery.

Description of job purpose:
The CE&I Designer is fundamentally a hands-on CAD draughting based role.
CE&I Designers are responsible for maintaining and developing the engineers’ designs as working drawings and ensuring design standards and codes are adhered to throughout the design process.

Duties:
Design draughting to meet technical specifications, drawing standards and codes primarily using AutoCAD
Development of designs to fit within space envelope and design interfaces
Preparation of manufacturing and installation drawings including detailing, dimensioning and tolerances
Recording design changes following design change control procedures
Liaison with Document Controllers and Design Engineers

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Preferably HNC qualified in a technical/engineering discipline though not essential.
Minimum ONC or equivalent qualification gained in a relevant technical, engineering or design discipline.
A full UK drivers licence is essential for this position as travelling between offices may be required.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Required Experience:
Demonstrable competence gained in a design delivery position
It is a requirement to have experience of electrical design including cabling, sizing, control panel design, system design, power supply and distribution etc.
knowledge of design standards and design based risk assessment would be an advantage.
Experience in nuclear is essential.
Technical design experience for EC&I or EC&A will include conceptual design.
