The Company:
The client is a world leader in nuclear power.

The Role:
The C&I Engineer will be report to the Construction Manager and the Commissioning Manager. They will be accountable for the C&I works in his scope, encompassing the following:

They will be working with First of a kind equipment working in nuclear area (such as trolleys, tipping machine, flask, mixing cradle, gamma gate, monitoring station), Cranes, lifts and heavy nuclear flasks Reception and Dispatch. They will also be involved in Chemical liquid waste management and Grout preparation

Defining the C&I Delivery strategy in compliance with the global Delivery strategy

Interfacing with the DESIGN teams, including the C&I lead, the corresponding Area managers. Challenging the design to respect the delivery strategy

The C&I Engineer will be taking part to the Procurement strategy, and definition of specification towards Vendors

Ensuring the Vendors and site work follow-up

Ensuring C&I engineering works are carried out by UK and the sub-contractors in compliance with SL design and safety standards and meet the project Nuclear Safety requirements

Interfacing with the chosen subcontractors, the C&I lead, the corresponding Area managers, and the discipline leads when requested.

The C&I Engineer will Incorporating (challenging where appropriate) safety case requirements

Delivering pragmatic design solutions, considering manufacture, testing, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance recovery and decommissioning aspects

Taking part in subcontractor follow-up Reviews

Taking part in subcontractor detailed design documentation reviews

The C&I Engineer will be Checking and approving drawings and documents, including the sub-contractors’ ones, in accordance with project procedures

Carrying out work to meet project security requirements

Adherence to and development of Procedures / Standards

Change Management in line with project requirements

The C&I Engineer will be involved with the Identification of risks and opportunities and application of risk mitigation strategies

Taking part to Design Reviews

Maintaining and developing current awareness of relevant delivery best practices

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The C&I Engineer will have a Degree in Instrumentation and Control related engineering,

Demonstrable experience of construction and commissioning,

Member of relevant professional body

Experience of delivering on the Sellafield site (highly appreciated)

Minimum 5 years’ experience typical
