The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide.

The Role:
The Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer will provide engineering expertise for SCADA, PLC control and instrumentation systems on our Oyster technology. Working within a multi-discipline engineering team, the successful candidate will have an appreciation of other disciplines' constraints and project requirements.

The EC&I Engineer will support our project engineering team with EC&I issues including assistance with design, procurement, installation, configuration and operation of our SCADA and PLC systems.

Working within a small team of engineers and project engineers, the EC&I Engineer will be responsible for the following:

First point of call for all company Control and Instrumentation issues
Creating C&I system design specifications
Tender appraisal, and equipment and supplier selection
Interfacing and managing contractors both on and off-site
Operation and configuration of SCADA, PLC and data collection & storage systems

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Time served apprenticeship in a C&I discipline, supplemented by either a HNC, HND or equivalent, or degree or equivalent in Instrument or Electrical Engineering
Significant experience of project engineering experience
Proven ability to reach practical, cost-effective and safe solutions
Excellent attention to detail to aim for complete availability of C&I systems
A strong influencer who is solutions driven and self-motivated
Ability to use initiative and demonstrate creativity
Excellent communication, numeracy and written communication skills
Computer literate and familiar with IT hardware
Ability to work in a team

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Specific recognised qualification (academic or vocational) in control instrumentation
Experience with ABB's 800xA Extended Automation System
Experience with HV electrical systems and formal Quality Assurance schemes
