Our client is a nuclear specialist, covering both civilian and defence sectors, across the complete lifecycle from New Build, through Operations and Maintenance, to final decommissioning and waste disposal.

The Role:
EC&I Inspector
Cumbria

To provide a high quality EC & I inspection service on Clients sites
To provide EC & I design support to the Clients project
Position in organisation and key relationships

Reports to the Projects Quality & Compliance Manager
Day-to-day support to the Export Facility Quality Manager
Day-to-day support to Senior EC & I Engineers
Day to day contact with Contractors and Suppliers
Responsible to the Projects Quality & Compliance Manager for the inspection of EC & I equipment at Suppliers’ works and on sites
Provision of EC & I engineering design support to EC & I Engineers
EC & I Inspection of Suppliers in accordance with CP0703
Advice to Marketing and Sales on EC & I inspection and quality matters during the preparation of tenders
Carry out Supplier Evaluation
Dimensions and limits of authority

Day to day inspection management of procurement contracts with a value up to £1.5M
Responsible for the acceptance of manufactured components on behalf of the Projects Quality & Compliance Manager.
Responsible for the direct liaison with project managers
Duties and key responsibilities
Inspection in accordance with CP0703
Approval of Supplier and Contractor quality-related documentation
Inspection of purchased EC & I equipment at Suppliers’ premises and on Clients sites
Inspection of electrical installation work on Clients sites
Sign off of EC & I Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans
Management of Suppliers and Contractors to quality and programme timescales
Advice to project design staff on manufacturing and inspection techniques
Quality Assurance
Advice on quality-related matters
Preparation of EC & I Quality Control Plans
Carrying out audits as per CP0102
Supply Chain Audits
Advice to Marketing and Sales on inspection and quality matters during the preparation of tenders.
Advice during the bid preparation stage

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A recognised qualification such as a degree in electrical engineering and/or HNC or HND with relevant experience
Experience within an engineering environment, with good practical experience such as an apprenticeship
Extensive knowledge of EC & I inspection requirements as required by the nuclear or other high technology industry
