The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
Seeking to employ an individual to lead the effort to implement and continuously improve efficiency initiatives currently being developed and utilized by the Turnaround Group for a period of 6 to 12 months.

The position will regularly interface with the project management team to identify procedure deviations, barriers to successful work completion, productivity improvements, successful task management, and communication.

The position will need to demonstrate strong teamwork, problem-solving, organizational and communication skills in order to work effectively with multiple departments as well as various internal and external interfaces. Will need to utilize a systematic way of thinking and analyzing problems and then lead the implemention and sustainment of solutions.

Responsibilities:
-Monitor and improve current processes being utilized to improve the effectiveness of Front Line Supervisors, start of shift barrier identification, and contractor integration into the planning and execution of planned unit outages.
-Prepare and present weekly reports on daily productivity during an outage.
-Monitor the utilization of the daily and 3-day lookahead schedules utilized by the supervisors during the unit outages.
-Assist with managing work seclection during the planning phase of unit outages.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
-College or University graduation in Engineering or similar (Operations Research or Industrial Engineering) with a minimum of three - five years working experience, preferably on Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
-Proficient in Lean Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or equivalent skills applicable to Oil and Gas or Petrochemical environments.
-Ability to read and understand major project schedules developed from Primavera (P6), MS Project, and/or MS Office.
Self-starter, detail oriented, strong teamwork, problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.
