The Company:
Our client is a Multinational Chemical company which will construct, own and operate a world-scale integrated chemicals complex in Saudi Arabia. Once completed, the complex will represent the largest petrochemical facility ever built in a single phase. Our client will establish a world-scale manufacturing footprint that delivers a full range of value-added, performance products destined for the emerging markets of Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa.

The Role:
The EH&S Engineer will be involved in leading the implementation of Sadara EH&S policies and programs within specific Manufacturing units/envelopes. Provides input to develop these policies and programs to prevent personal injury and illness, environmental insults or non-compliances, and financial loss in areas valued in excess of five billion dollars. Assures adherence and consistency in overall EH&S program standards and advises Manufacturing’s and Sadara’s management on their effectiveness.

• Acts as the focal point for an envelope on specific EH&S discipline (i.e. Environmental, IH, Personal Safety, Process Safety etc.)
• Participate in and provide data for EH&S audits.
• Coordinate and optimize EH&S programs within specific facilities. Coordinates efficient implementation of EH&S guidelines, standards and programs.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action process.
• Recommends improvement and proposes solutions to specific EH&S issues. Initiates and supports Management of Change (MOC) for EH&S matters as necessary
• Identify opportunities to streamline EH&S resources and work processes.
• Collects, inputs and calculates EH&S reporting information.
• Links to EH&S Expertise to obtain clear interpretations of site-specific regulatory process, regulations, laws and associated procedures.
• Coordinates the implementation of an assessment program to ensure conformity of Sadara facilities to EH&S programs within a specific unit/envelope.
• Reviews and provides EH&S related input to Sadara guidelines, standards and programs.
• Implements EH&S assessment recommendation from Saudi Arabian Government officials, industry, and Sadara management as applicable to his unit/envelope.
• Maintains an effective liaison with Manufacturing leaders and EH&S Leaders and keeps them advised of trends in EH&S performance and potential EH&S issues that could affect operations at his envelope.
• Conducts EH&S related training to his operations management and personnel with the objective to increase operations EH&S awareness, responsibilities and performance.
• Advises and provides support in emergency situations, to help mitigate the situation and accelerate the return to normal operations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in one of the fields of engineering or science.

• 5 years’ experience in chemical or oil industry or related EH&S field.
• 3 years’ experience in one of EH&S fields.
• Excellent command of technical engineering English. Arabic is not required but is highly desirable.
• The ability to analyze complex human/mechanical systems and problems, and to obtain acceptance of safe design and operating procedures.
